After Hours
Our established patients should call Dr. Wilson’s cell phone.
That number is available on our after-hours phone message.
Also, please refer to the following first aid information.
Permanent tooth knocked out
Rinse the tooth in cool water very gently (don’t scrub or use soap). Handle only the crown portion of the tooth and not the root. If possible, place it back in the socket and hold in place with a clean gauze or a washcloth. If the tooth cannot be reinserted, place it in a cup of milk, saline solution or water. Act fast and get to the dental office immediately. This is the best way to save the tooth.
Primary tooth knocked out
Contact us as soon as possible. Do not try to reinsert a primary tooth, because you risk damage to the permanent tooth bud underneath.
Chipped or Broken Tooth
Rinse the mouth with warm water and apply a cool compress over the injured soft tissue area to reduce swelling. Contact us.
Possible Broken Jaw
Go immediately to the emergency room
Toothache
To comfort your child, rinse the mouth with warm, dilute salt water. Motrin [which also helps reduce swelling] or Tylenol may help relieve some of the discomfort. Contact us as soon as possible. Do not apply heat or an aspirin to the area.
